Afterburner controller for big Jet engines, diameter up to 200 mm (120 LEDs), powered by 3S LiPol (9 V - max 14 V)
The NF-Jet4 module serves to simulate flame on the output of the jet engine using yellow ultra bright LEDs 5 mm. The intensity of the flame follows the power of the engine. To increase the reality of the flame the light intensity changes in pseudo-random period. The frequency of changes speeds up when increasing the engine power. If the receiver connector is disconnected, the unit is uncontrolled. In this case the light intensity randomly drifts nearby 100% (full gas).
The receiver circuits and the light circuits are galvanically separated by an opto-coupler. The module is connected to receiver by a Graupner, Hitech type connector. The light circuits are powered from accumulator with a voltage from 8 up to 14 V. The optimum is 12 V. The red wire has to be connected to plus pole of the accumulator. The brown wire (ground) to the negative pole.
The module has two outputs, for first (red) color and for second (yellow) color. The third pole (brown in the middle) is a common negative pole of LEDs (cathodes) for both colors (ground). For a mono-color applications both (red and yellow) outputs can be connected in parallel.
The module works with LED belts NF-Jet4 having one or two ranges of LEDs 3 or 5 mm in maximum of 21 segments. Every segment represents 5mm of diameter. 15 segments represent 75 mm diamter, 21 segments represent 105 mm diameter. Segments can be removed by user and that will shorten diameter of the belt by 5 mm in diameter by segment. Shortened by user can be only belts with one range of LEDs. Belts with two ranges (lines) of LEDs cannot be shortened by user, so you must specify.
The module also works with NF-Jet4 Rings with inner diameter of 115 mm and outer diameter of 145 mm with 3 lines of 5 mm LEDs.
